A young bachelor, riding a motorbike
heading towards his home is thinking how happy her mother and sister would be
to know that he has gotten promotion and handsome appraisal in his firm. Things
seems slow to him but at the same time his brain is thinking too fast about his small
world, where in near future he will be in a position soon to take her mother for performing Hajj and her
sister can be married in a good family. “I will shift to a good
location rather than living in this small crowdy area”. He thought he is not
going to reveal about his promotion;
just to tease ‘Amma Ji’ and ‘Aapa’ but soon he will tell them and they
will be very happy. His
mind is working even faster than the speed of motorbike when suddenly … a heavy
duty truck which was over speeding crashed into him …. When all those wills,
wishes, dreams, were about to end under that heavy duty truck’s wheels, his
mind asked one question… only one question and that was … WHY ME?
A 36 year smart sales person, who is
been informed by his company’s headoffice representative that his idea of
promoting one of the new upcoming product by the company is very creative and
innovative among more than 1600 different ideas by other people, he is been definitely
selected for 2 years workshops and training package with his family to U.S.A.
Company will bear all the expenses of his family with many facilities. He had
never visited any other country in his
life but now he and his family will be seeing the places which they only saw in
their dreams. The mind is crafting even more dreams when suddenly …. he applied
the emergency breaks on his secondhand Suzuki Mehran because few people were
firing openly in the middle of the road. Many bullets went across his body….before
he died his mind asked only one question … WHY ME?
An elderly face full of wrinkles from
which poverty and hunger is drizzling suddenly appeared at the window of brand
new Mercedes parked outside the famous fast food restaurant. She begged for
food as she was famished. Inside the comfortable
car, a mother of two children was telling them that these kind of people are
professional beggars and they don’t deserve to be fed. The 4 year old son asked his mother “Mama!
What if she is really hungry? ” Mother replied, “Son, they are even better
actors than you normally see on T.V, now please stop looking at her and enjoy your favourite
meal. On the other hand, that old lady gave up, moved away from the car and
lied on the footpath. In next few hours the dead body of that old lady found outside the
world’s finest and famous fast food chain of restaurants asked a question ….. WHY ME?
These stories may seem trivial to some
people and are part of our surroundings but we
have closed our eyes from them.
I am not hopeless; few exceptions are
there; they are always there.
But for a moment, think
for a while that the young boy with all his dreams killed under the truck could
be the resultant of hypocrisy of an individual who gave the road permit to that
young under-trained driver who was really unaware of the damage he caused to a family.
Those killers or their lords are the
real ugly hypocrites who have given the punishment to a young, intelligent and
the owner of his small universe for his undone sin.
And finally in that car, that family was
“us”. We are the hypocrites who always judge things from our side, not the other
side. We always consider ourselves right and others wrong. We are trained and
very well trained of seeing ourselves in the mirrors rather than our souls. It’s
not like we never try to see our souls, we do, but as mentioned we are well
trained in closing our eyes in such conditions. We enjoy to listen somebody
praising us but not correcting us. It’s not because we are perfect, nobody is …
but we are hypocrites…. not everyone is, few exceptions are there; they are
always there.
May
Allah give us the strength and power to come out from our cover or may be the
tight shell in which we have enclosed ourselves and locked by Hypocrisy.
